CHARACTER INFORMATION
- ★ NAME: Delsin Rowe
- ★ AGE: 24
- ★ CANON & CANON POINT: Infamous: Second Son (Post-game, good Karma)
- ★ CANON INFORMATION: Boop!
- ★ PERSONALITY: Delsin is loud and boisterous and incredibly irreverent, outgoing and friendly to the point of obnoxiousness at times. He's always trying to draw people out of their shells and get them to loosen up, regardless of their personal comfort levels or reasons for being withdrawn in the first place. This particular trait is seen most clearly in his interactions with his fellow Conduit Eugene, whom he constantly nags to get out more and do social things. Because he likes going out and having fun, especially with his newfound powers, he seems to operate under the assumption that everyone else around him will be up for it too, and he is always shocked when his chosen socialization targets fight him tooth and nail about it. On the flip-side, though, he's very good at wiggling his way under people's skin and getting them to like him, as he does with Fetch over the course of getting to know her, just by being persistent and being genuinely interested in people and their well-being. This leads him to form easy friendships with people who are in need of it, but he can also get on someone's nerves if they've chosen the "loner" lifestyle because it suits them, and not because they were left with no other choice.
He thinks he's the funniest guy on the planet. His sense of humor can be juvenile, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of dry wit or acerbic sarcasm either. He appears incredibly full of himself at first glance, but it's clear after even minimal interaction that it's all pretty tongue-in-cheek. He does still have his moments of seriousness, generally with anything relating to the people he is close to being in serious trouble, but otherwise he treats life like a wild adventure even when he should be considerably more cautious. This complete lack of caution and his love of running off at the mouth even to the most dangerous people often gets him (and others) into trouble, and for most of his life up until very, very recently, Delsin always relied on his older brother Reggie to bail him out of any tight spots that his big mouth got him into. After their mother and father died and Reggie was thrust into a psuedo-parent role, he did all the growing up for both of them and began to personify the responsibility and order to Delsin's immaturity and chaos - for example, at 24 Reggie complains that he's never held a "real" job (likely only taking part time work at the local fish cannery), and Delsin spends his days doing graffiti and causing trouble while by contrast his brother joined the police and eventually became the sheriff for their small town around the age of 30.
While obviously a product of the information age and jaded by all the things a guy can find on the internet, Delsin can still be a bit sheltered. He's not the best judge of character, and he's not the most intelligent person in the world either. Near the end of the game when Hank, another Conduit, appears out of nowhere and offers to help lead Delsin to the woman he'd been looking for and starts asking all sorts of suspicious questions (clearly knowing things he shouldn't know), Delsin doesn't even get suspicious when he gets brushed off after asking "hey, how do you know about that?" He pretty much just rolls with whatever, and only after does he actually stop and take a second to think about what any of it meant. This is very indicative of his approach to every day life, and his leap-first, look-later attitude.
He has a terrible temper, and often has trouble thinking critically in moments where new, unknown things are being thrown his way, or things are happening that seriously piss him off. He bounces back quickly, but in those critical moments he can break down and panic or rage. This anger usually rears its head in response to harm coming to what he considers "his"; his friends and fellow conduits, yes, but mostly his tribe the Akomish. Because he grew up on a small reservation with the other members of his tribe making up his family after he lost his parents, and because he grew up with the mantra we take care of our own, Delsin's first (and probably up until that point only real) display of embracing his own responsibility came when he realized that he had to be the one to find a way to save his people after saying the wrong things to Augustine got them hurt in the first place.
He's not a bad guy, he just wasn't the sort of person meant to become a superhero until it happened one day anyway, and he spends a good portion of the game really coming to grips with that.
- ★ COURT ALLIANCE: Unseelie. While Delsin comes into his own as a protector throughout the game, he is still very much a chaotic soul. His desire for power leads him to seek out other Conduits despite all protests from his brother, and he always delights in having new abilities and the greater physical freedom they entail, massively freaking out when they seem to get taken away about halfway through the game and he's left normal again. Almost everything he does is impulsive to the point of driving his brother up the wall, and he's always pushing hard against the established order - at first, just because he can, and after the events of the game because he feels it's the right thing to do.
- ★ ABILITIES: Video of all his different powers!
- Power Absorption: this was Delsin's natural/genetic ability, which he never knew he possessed before first encountering a Conduit (basically, Infamous-verse's version of "mutants," complete with a special dedicated gene that gives random superpowers to the few people who possess it.) For Delsin to use this power, he must hold the Conduit's hand for at least a few seconds, and doing so results in him briefly exploring that person's memories related to their powers, before they are both knocked unconscious. His own copied version of the ability is always seemingly less effective than the original version.
- Basic Conduit Abilities: enhanced strength (able to push a car off his brother), durability (shown to survive a fall from the top of a skyscraper to the concrete below and remain both unharmed and unhurt) and rapid healing (able to recover from bullet wounds to the torso in seconds, but can still be killed by catastrophic enough physical trauma, or presumably instantly fatal wounds.) He can also use the energy from any of his abilities to resuscitate people, or to restrain them.
- Smoke: the first ability Delsin picked up and therefore the most developed, Delsin can generate/throw superheated smoke. He can also dissolve his entire body into said smoke and propel it through very small places. He can use this power to levitate for brief periods of time.
- Neon: he shoots beams of concussive neon colored light from his hands, and can transform himself into light so he can run fast enough to scale straight up walls. He can also use this to levitate briefly.
- Video: He can create hard-light constructs, usually in the form of giant, glowing swords and angels/demons (from a video game inside the Infamous world), as well as wings which he uses to fly for much longer periods of time than with his smoke/neon abilities. He can also render himself briefly invisible with this.
- Concrete: his least developed ability, he can generate concrete from thin air in order to shield himself or in order to throw at an opponent.
He can only use any of these abilities one at a time, and he can only switch between them after touching a source of energy for them (for example, he would only be able to use Neon and Concrete in the Station where there are neon lights/concrete (I assume) present. Video could come from the lockets or tvs at the Station, and smoke from any source of smoke anywhere in Draubworld.)
- ★ INVENTORY: A heavy metal chain that he keeps wrapped around one arm, the clothes on his back, his smartphone (unusable outside the station), and a few cans of spray paint.
